Damion Norton’s chips right after the money bubble.
Just as we were getting a picture of Norton’s stack, bag and empty chair, another ruckus started moving down the tables, as a player seemed to be frantically looking for his seat in the ocean of tables. Enter stage left, Damion Norton. The entire table seemed confused at first but then all started to laugh again, as Norton got to the table, half out of breath and asked, “How many from the money?”
When he found out that his stack had just navigated itself into the money, Norton joined in on the laughter, adding that it was good he showed up late since he “probably would have been coolered by now” had he been on time. So, why the tardiness?
Norton mistakenly looked at the tournament schedule and saw 3 PM listed, which would be the correct time if he makes tomorrow’s live streamed final table, but is certainly the wrong time of today’s Day 2 start.
Norton likely won’t be getting to return tomorrow at 3 PM, as he’s now just sitting with a few antes in front of him but in the end, he can’t complain that much, as he would have returned with a nearly average stack coming into today and showed up to find out that he was officially in the money.
This ghost cash is Norton’s first ever at Borgata and it would have been interesting to see how he would have faired if he was here at 11 AM, as he has some decent results to his name, including a WSOP Circuit victory at the beginning of the spring in Baltimore, as well as a WSOP Circuit Main Event cash from later in that series. Today though, he’ll have to settle with a min-cash, most likely, and better read the schedule the next time he makes a Day 2 session.
